Transfer Deadline Day - Early Evening Review

Not long to go until the winter transfer window slams shut and the deals just keep on coming. Since my last post things have taken an interesting turn with regards to a certain club from London and a player they’ve been interested in for some time.

Nigerian striker Peter Odemwingie is currently in London for talks with Queens Park Rangers despite sources claiming that his current club West Bromwich Albion has not given him permission to talk to the club. I am very interested so see where this story is going. They have been in talks about the player throughout the day but have not managed to come to an agreement. Still time for something to happen but if a move doesn’t materialise, you might be right to think that Odemwingie won’t be too popular back at The Hawthorns for this recent development.

More ins and outs from The Premier League include left back Stephen Warnock who is leaving Aston Villa to join Leeds United permanently. Fulham completed another loan signing bringing in PSV Eindhoven defender Stanislav Manolev for the rest of the season. Arsenal and QPR are on the verge of completing deals for defender Nacho Monreal from Malaga and midfielder Jermaine Jenas from Tottenham Hotspur respectively. Another deal involving QPR that could be agreed before 11pm involves their striker DJ Campbell who is close to agreeing a move to Blackburn Rovers. Stoke City have had an active day and have just recently completed their deal for American winger Brek Shea which was originally delayed due to a work permit issue. As well as arrivals, there could be another departure at The Britannia Stadium after Brighton and Hove Albion had a bid for centre half Matthew Upson accepted.

This is going to be my last post till after the deadline has passed and apologies if it is a bit rushed, but given that there has been a sudden burst in activity, it is hard to both write and pay attention to the breaking transfer news. Before I end, I’d just like to say I hope you enjoy the last couple of hours of the transfer window, and I hope your club gets whatever player or players it is they are looking for tonight. All the best and I’ll be back after 11pm!
